Account Deletion Policy
We are committed to protecting the privacy and data of our users. This policy explains how to delete your Chatnee account and what information is deleted or retained after deletion.
1 Request Account Deletion
To delete your Chatnee account, follow these steps:
- Open the Chatnee app on your device.
- Go to your Profile by tapping the profile icon in the bottom navigation.
- Select Delete Account.
- Confirm to permanently delete your account.
2 What Data Is Deleted?
When you delete your account, the following data is permanently deleted from our servers:
- Personal information: name, email address, phone number, and other identifiers you provided during account creation.
- Usage data: preferences, settings, and activity/history linked to your account.
- User-generated content: content you created in the app (for example, messages, uploads, or other contributions) where applicable.
- Connection logs: device and connection information associated with your account (where applicable).
3 Data Retention Period
We aim to delete your personal and identifiable information promptly after your account deletion request is confirmed. In most cases, deletion occurs immediately or within a reasonable processing period.
4 Exceptions (Legal & Safety Requirements)
Certain data may be retained if required by law, or if it is necessary to:
- fulfil legal obligations
- resolve disputes
- enforce our agreements
- prevent fraud or abuse and maintain platform safety
